Female sexual arousal disorder is the condition of decreased interest in sexual intercourse, sexual activity, and sexual contact in females. Loss of interest in sex occurs most commonly in women as they age.

There are strong evolutionary reasons to support the notion that females should have a lessened interest in sexual activities once they are no longer of child-bearing age. Natural selection may demand that women who can no longer reliably produce healthy children would therefore have a diminished interest in sexual activities.
